Our School Building:
The building itself was built on the former grounds of the Wandsworth Technical Institute, which was opened in 1895 and was used during World War II for occupational training critical to the war effort. Over the next 50 years, it started on its path as a Further Education (FE) college and underwent redevelopment in 2006 and re-opened in 2009.
APSoL has taken the eastern wing of the school, which is being further redeveloped for the purpose of our primary school creating a cutting-edge, exceptionally spacious and bright learning environment featuring a multi-use games area, sheltered informal play areas and tiered play decks. Our entire campus is sealed off and exists independently from the rest of the college.

Our
school site occupies part of what used to belong to South Thames Coll
ege. The partition works to separate the
schools took place before we opened in September 2020. From September 2020-March 2021, we completed phase 1 of the
building works which was to create an office, 2 Reception classrooms with their very own toilets, a staffroom and 2 adult WCs.
We are expecting Phase 2 of the construction works to start this August (Council planning approval expected to be granted July), prioritising the renovation of the classrooms for Year 1 which are due to be completed by December 2021. Following that, construction works on a more significant scale will commence in January 2022, which will be to complete the rest of the school renovation (playdecks, remaining classrooms, specialist teaching rooms, dinning hall etc) expected to be completed by September 2022.
Hopefully, in just a little over a year, we will have an incredible primary school where all the children can make fantastic memories!
Below, you will see an estimated timetable (schedule) of works and a visual of one of the playdecks. Please note that there will be 3 playdecks and each will be designed and equipped with resources suitable for the different ages.
Building renovation works – July 2023-August 2024
The school is currently undergoing a massive renovation project, creating new classrooms, a library, 3 play decks and a new Reception outdoor area.
We will be updating this page regularly so you can see progress with the building works.
